Rules you need to know for Barrel Races Events

  • In the event the timer malfunctions during your run, the announcer will NOT notify mid-run and if you hit a barrel or go off pattern then you carry the hit barrel penalty into your re-run, thus no re-runs will be rewarded. If you run clean and the timer misses you, then in your re-run you get a free roll, meaning any knocked over barrels will not be penalized.
  • Absolutely no tabs or reservations without payment.
  • Tie outs are according to the arenas rules, as well as outside shavings.
  • Must ride with saddle.
  • All riders must check-in with the show office before running.
  • Refunds are issued only to medical, death in the family, or vet outs. After the Draw is posted will incur a 25% charge on the refund. No charge before the Draw is posted.
  • If you miss your run after the 3rd call you may repay for the day and run at a later time
  • To be in the average you must run all days of the show.
  • In the event of a tie for awards if both parties are present and one wishes to run off it will automatically be a run off, if one of the parties is absent it will automatically be a coin toss. NO other wards will be purchased for Tie.
  • Immediate family may run the same horse.
  • A horse may only be entered once (except for immediate family)
  • You may run as many horses as you wish.
  • Dress code is depending on the show so stay on the lookout for this information on the flyers, Facebook event, or entry forms.
  • In the event of a COMPLETE broadside of your horse (the producer will make this decision slips, falls or stumble are NOT qualified) will receive a rerun.
  • No Switching of draw position this will result as a NT (horse or rider)
  • Reruns will be on Fresh Drag.
  • Contestants will receive a no time for hitting a barrel, breaking pattern, or falling off.
  • In the event of breaking the pattern or falling off you may complete the pattern and exit the arena but NO repeating or training a $75 fine will be issued if this is too happen and if fine goes unpaid you will be DQ or not accepted at the future events.
  • Any Issues that may come up that are not stated in the rules will be left up to the producer to decide on what action if any to take.
